Katrina\r\n\r\n Although thousands and thousands of people were affected by this Katrina devastation fortunately I was one of the lucky ones. My house was not affected by the storm other than a few shingles missing which isn\'t much to worry about. I live in River Ridge which is a fairly safe zone concerning with floods. The day before the hurricane hit I left River Ridge and evacuated to Alexandria, La with my family for two weeks, watching the news religiously like every other New Orleans resident. I returned to the city after those two weeks using a working permit given to me by my place of occupation, Home Depot.\r\n Emotionally my life was and still is being affected by the countless numbers of friends, family members, and work associates who did lose everything. Their horrible devastation stories make me realize how fortunate I was. The overall destruction can\'t help but make anyone feel uneasy. Financially I took a big loss during the entire evacuation process, having no steady income and spending money on food and other needs. Once again, this is nothing compared to what the majority of the city of New Orleans had to undergo. My financial status quickly changed when I returned to the city and started back at work. Like I said earlier I work at Home Depot and because we were so understaffed I acquired a lot of overtime which brought my financial status right back up.\r\n Overall I feel extremely fortunate after this catastrophe knowing the destruction many people are still being faces with and are being forced to start their lives over
