My family and I deceided to leave our homes because of the consequences we might face if we had stayed. My house did flood, but I only got a foot of water in my house, so if I had stayed we would have had to walk around in the dirty gross water, and we might have gotten sick from it. We would have not had any clean water and no electricity if we had stayed, however the place we did go to was not much better. My family and I went to a camp in Jackson, LA. We lost electricity within a few hours of the hurricane and we never got power back until four days later. We also did not have any water, which was AWFUL! So imagine six people in a camp and no one has taken a bath since the day before the hurricane! We took a trip to Wal-Mart\'s beauty salon to get our hair washed! The lady thought we were crazy!! Finally after talking sense into my parents who had wanted us to all stay together, we finally went to Baton Rouge and seperated. I went and stayed with my friend and my two cats, and My mom and sister went to her friends house and my other sister went to her boyfriends friends house. Life was so much better in a bigger city with civilization and WATER and TV!!! \r\nI will never evacuate with my entire family anywhere ever again! It was so stressful, I seriously thought about runing into the woods and never returning! The country is not for me! \r\nNext time, I\'d rather stay in my house with the flooded water. \r\n\r\n
