First staff at graduation, 1993.\r\n\r\nNunez Community College is located in Chalmette, in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. The school was formed by the 1992 merger of Elaine P. Nunez Technical Institute and St. Bernard Parish Community College. As a result, it offers both academic and vocational classes, a situation which is unusual within Louisiana. In 2005 it was heavily damaged by flooding due to Hurricane Katrina.
