Sometimes I Cry

Collection

Hellicane: Poets Respond to Hurricane Katrina

Sometimes I cry when I think of home\r\nWondering why everything\'s all gone\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry because some people died\r\nTrying to escape from the rising tide\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry when babies had no food\r\nThe way they treated us was very cruel\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry from the nightmares I have\r\nThe sorrow and pain is hard to bear\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry when I see the death toll\r\nSo many bodies, mostly old\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry when nothing\'s wrong\r\nThen I think about families without a home\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry because my sisters are gone\r\nBut with GOD\'S help - He has made them strong\r\n\r\nSometimes I cry because it\'s great to be alive\r\nThank you GOD that I survived
