This photo is from the 1978 Chalmette High School yearbook, and features winners at a Titles Dance.\r\n\r\nChalmette High School is located in Chalmette in St.\r\nBernard Parish, LA, just outside New Orleans. The\r\nParish was completely flooded during Hurricane\r\nKatrina. In the days after Hurricane Katrina a small\r\ngroup of dedicated staff, including school Principal\r\nWayne Warner and Assistant Principal Cookie Mundt,\r\nopened the school as a shelter for parish residents.\r\nThey were trapped in the school for four days with\r\nlittle food and water while they waited for rescue.\r\n
