\r\n\r\nAfter studying abroad, I transferred to UNO in 2003 to finish my studies and hoped to graduate by 2005. I moved into an apartment in a four apartment complex located near Ponchatrain Lake only a few miles from the University. It was a short walk from the lake, a supermarket, Blockbuster video rentals and a fitness center. It was the perfect spot for anyone studying there but wanting to live outside of the campus. The place where I spent the majority of my time, the living room, had a window that extended the entire length of the wall which was to the right of the main entrance. Even though there was a good sized television the main focus of this room was this window that looked out to the lighted swimming pool in the middle of this complex. In the center was a fifty five gallon fresh fish tank filled with plants, fish and two turtles. The walls were dark brown and decorated with paintings made by my best friend. Two of my favorite was one of the Crescent City Connection Bridge and one of Bourbon St. I had a study that contained my computer and guitar. A week after fall semester began there were rumors about a hurricane and soon I was packing just 3 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts. In the two years since I came I had evacuated three times and thought I would soon return after a short road trip just like the other times. I didn\'t know that I would have to live in Houston for seven months and never be able to return to my place, my fish, my clothes and all the things I had accumulated during my stay. Luckily on the day I left home, I thought to bring my two little turtles in a small dish so I didn\'t really lose everything. \r\n
