When we heard about the storm my parents, grandfather, sister, aunt uncle and myself left like most people in the city. we stayed at a hotel in Huston texas because my dad and uncle had reserved rooms at the hotel from work. After the storm had gone through and we knew we were not going to be able to go home we talked to my other uncle who lives in Katy Texas. My mom, sister, grandfather and me lived with at my uncles house for about a month and a half. I went to a public school while there. Once we heard that Rummel, an area highschool, was opening back home and my sisters grammer school was opening too and my moms office reopened on the north shore, we came home. During the month and a half we stayed there I made several trips back home to clear the damage from my parents\' houses. Neither of my parents houses flooded but there was damage to them like a broken swing set, many fallen trees, shingles and parts of the roofs were missing. Over the past 5 years we have fixed those problems little by little but will always have something that is broken from Katrina.
