Do You Know What it Means

This page is from the 1975 Chalmette High School yearbook.

Chalmette High School is located in Chalmette in St. Bernard Parish, LA, just outside New Orleans. The Parish was completely flooded during Hurricane Katrina. In the days after Hurricane Katrina a small group of dedicated staff, including school Principal Wayne Warner and Assistant Principal Cookie Mundt, opened the school as a shelter for parish residents. They were trapped in the school for four days with little food and water while they waited for rescue.
