Slidell Police didn\'t mess around when it came to price gougers.

Police officers escort a handcuffed man in a dark shirt and jeans away from a white work van with a ladder rack and "Roofing Specialist" signage, with a house and parked vehicles in the background.

After Katrina, people not only had to deal with losing so much, but in the rebuild effort they had to watch out for price gougers. This man was an out-of-town worker being arrested in Slidell after trying to charge my neighbor $5,000 for cutting down a tree. The police were adamant about this and charged him to the fullest. I was impressed with the Slidell Police Department in their efforts to help keep gougers away!
