Life In The Gulf Coast Is Dying © R.G. Parnell

The Gulf Coast is dying Victim of a pestilence born of corporate greed And it's escalating and growing Into something more heinous than anyone ever conceived it seems the pursuit of profit Has superseded concerns for safety and life And now the suits are calculating how much money it'll take To make things like before .. to make things right But the oil'sl flowing unchecked And the Gulf ... it's still dying So ... what about a little less calculating of cost And a what about a great deal more ... of sincerely trying! For even if the corporate conglomerates can pony up and pay the price The entire world will for some time ... have to bear this cost See ... it's going to take much more than billions of dollars To recover what was hopefully ... not forever ... to us ... lost For so very much from so very many ... Has been brutally snatched away Like for instance ... all the tomorrows and promises lost Because you couldn't fix this continuing ... ever increasing problem ... today! So can you look beyond answers ... and find solutions And please ... act most expeditiously The Earth is violently hemorrhaging Bleeding oil profusely ... and bringing us big time misery! For the Gulf Coast is still dying Victim of a pestilence born of corporate greed And it's continually escalating and growing Into something more heinous than you refuse to acknowledge, recognize ... and/or believe!
