I was living in New Orleans East when Hurricane Katrina hit. My family had evacuated to Columbus, Georgia. We stayed in a hotel for 2 weeks and watched as our house became underwater. This was so hard on us to watch an realize that our house and city is gone. My stepdad didnt get out the bed for 2 days because he was restoring a Corvette and it was gone. We eventually came back to Covington and lived with a family friend in a trailer for 3 months. This was really hard because we had 8 people and 3 dogs in this little trailer for a long time. When we went to the house to look at it, I couldnt handle it. I was to devastated and couldnt go in a see what I can save from my room. We decided to move to Metairie, Louisiana and started our new life here.
