Online Story Contribution, Hurricane Digital Memory Bank

I am on the Red Cross Disaster Team, so after Katrina I was at Ford Park everyday while the shelter was open. I enjoyed working with the evacuees from Lousiana, and the other volunteer staff and payed staff. I was also affected by Rita. I did not evacuate and stayed after the storm to help clean the streets and distribute food and water to other people who stayed and had none and to volunteers who where cleaning the streets. I appriciate everyone who stayed after the storm that maintain the law and contributed to the restoration of the city. If there is another Hurricane I will be staying and repeating my contributions to the restoration effort. Thank you for archiving peoples stories of thier situations during and after the storm. I have heard horror stories from both Katrina and Rita, and it means the world to people to know that they have a voice in the documentation of these unfortunate events.
