This collection comprises photos and stories originally posted on the Baresden website (http://www.baresden.com/) created by Fran and Mike Willumitis to tell the story of their evacuation from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to North Carolina. Also included are photos of destruction on the ground and from the air. The aerial images were given to the Willumitises from search and rescue personnel who traveled to the Gulf to assist local authorities (including Mike). Some of those personnel remarked that the destruction they encountered on the Gulf Coast surpassed what they saw after the September 11 attacks in New York City.
