This collection comprises images taken by Naval Historical Center Curator, Frank Thompson, of Battleship Memorial Park, Mobile, Alabama in November 2005. The park exhibits Battleship Alabama, submarine USS Drum, and aircraft from different eras in naval aviation.



To assess damage to the facilities, artifacts, aircraft, and vessels following Hurricane Katrina, Thompson photographed the entire facility in great detail. This type of assessment is a typical exercise following a natural disaster for any facility that exhibits historical objects.



Following the hurricane, the park was closed to the public for four months.
