We returned early on, late September, to discover that we were among the luckiest; no significant damage, our electricity already back on, our lives basically intact. As we searched for friends and normal behavior, we quickly ended up with a defacto coffee shop; we set up a couple of coffeepots in front of a building we own on Royal St, and served out coffee and, more importantly, a gathering spot for people from thruout, every morning for a month or so, until other places sarted to open. People came from all over the city, I still don\'t know how some of them found out about us. But it felt wonderful to have something to do, and now, in retrospect, I realise that we could hardly have picked a better way to help restart the city.
