Hurricane Katrina really affected my family and my life. We left New Orleans 3 days before the storm hit. We went to Houston,Texas and stayed in a hotel for a week. We thought that we would be coming home after that week, but when we turned on the news, the television report said that people could not return back to New Orleans because if the additional water levee brokerage, and that it would take 3 months or more to actually come back. It was a shock and a panic for my family because now, we had to settle somewhere for 3 months. We then took a trip to Fortworth, Texas and stayed at my cousin\'s house for a week, and then we went to Dallas, Texas around the Plano area to stay there for the next 3 months. All I can say is, Hurricane Katrina has changed my life. There were some good things that came from it and some bad things, but overrall, it helped put my life in perspective, because, almost every phone call after the Hurricane came from family and friends assuring that everyone was okay and safe.
