Evacuee testimonial on Acadiana Outreach Center:\r\n\r\nMary S stayed in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and recounts her long journey to the Cajun Dome. Her family spent three days in the Park Plaza before they trudged through flood water to higher ground where they were picked-up by the New Orleans Police and brought to safety on the Westbank of New Orleans. Later, they were brought to the Cajun Dome in Lafayette where they received shelter. Mary\'s story does not end here, she was evacuated from the Cajun Dome for Hurricane Rita and her family is displaced across the South. Mary is in need of housing and household goods. \r\n\r\nOriginally posted: http://www.acadianaoutreach.org/site59.php
