My name is Wynde Saddy. I am from St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. We took a direct hit from Hurricane Katrina. Every home in our entire parish was inundated with water. Mine had 13 feet. Combine that with the MRGO and the oil spill and you can imagine what it was like by the photos I have posted that were taken 3 months after the Hurricane. I have also posted photos of my home before the Hurricane. You will notice the tape still on the windows from the 2004 hurricane season. Please note on the map where exactly St. Bernard Parish is located. It is right next to the 9th Ward that has received so much coverage. According to the government and the media, St. Bernard Parish does not exist. We are a strong family based community who has lost everything. Family and friends are spread out throughout the United States. Those of us that have returned and are trying to rebuild our lives are left with a feeling of being alone ... a feeling of desertion. We do not want a handout. We would just like to be recognized.
