Hellicane: Poets Respond to Hurricane Katrina

Beneath the painted cloudy sky\r\nBurnt by sun rays shining high\r\n\r\nLies a wicked killer storm\r\nComes by day or night no matter\r\n\r\nEvil in its sinister waves\r\nGives no quarter either way\r\n\r\nThis wicked, wicked killer storm\r\nHas brought the gulf to bay\r\n\r\nInsidious in its crooked ways\r\nCares not if souls are lost today\r\n\r\nIt brought a city to its knees\r\nIn death and carnage it knows the way\r\n\r\nTo this we owe to precious few\r\nWho dared to stare its evil eye\r\n\r\nAnd brought the wrath to bay\r\nNow the time to pray has come\r\n\r\nTo fill the shining painted sky\r\nWith love and hope we ask dear God\r\n\r\nTo heal our loss\r\nAnd take our pain away
