My family lived in New Orleans before moving to Tennessee about 18 years ago. For the past 18 years we have been going back every St. Pattie\'s Day. We have close family friends and relatives still down there also. When my sister graduated from high school she had only one place in mind for college, LSU. She loves LSU, we all do, I was supposed to go there, but I didnt. When hurricane Katrina hit, I remember exactly what I was doing. My heart stopped. I was worried to death about Katherine. I didnt know where she was, I didnt know is she was alive or dead. I wass scared. We could not get a hold of her because cell phones did not work in the area at the time. I kept remembering my dad telling Katherine get out, just drive away from the storm, but she didnt. Thankfully, Katherine was safe. She went back to Baton Rouge and volunteered helping refugees at LSU. My story is not that sad and there are stories that are horrifying compared to mine. New Orleas is different now. I went back there in February of 2006 it was had completely changed. It felt like death, it doesnt the same spirit as it once did. I understand the pain that so many people through, its unbearable. My prayers are with all of those people.
