December 19, 2005 \r\nIn the last board meeting, disgruntled parents added not opening McDonogh 35 to the long list of public \"how could you\'s.\" The beleaguered governing body faced a room full of parents who requested the opening of the historically significant, community school as a non-chartered entity. However, the NOPS board, which is saddled with a multimillion-dollar deficit and a depleted student population, could not justify opening McDonogh 35 in the near future.\r\n
