The beleaguered Recovery School District proposed a policy that would allow a student to pass a subject even if he or she averaged a failing grade for the year. As soon as the new Education Superintendent Paul Pastorek heard the shrill public outcry, he called RSD head Robin Jarvis to his office. The grading plan will be revised primarily due to the angry reactions to the policy as being \"lenient.\" However, the hackneyed response to the Recovery School District\'s temporary grading system misses the mark as to how it could potentially harm students.\r\n
