This is near the breach from the Old Hammond Hwy. We just crossed the 17th St. Canal from Metairie and are now in New Orleans. This is the area everyone has seen in photos and on television where water poured into New Orleans. I spent a lot of time studying photographs and satellite images of the hurricane damage all across Louisiana following the hurricanes. But I must say, this particular view took my breath away when I saw it in person. Homes used to be in the foreground. It now looks like the moon surface covered in lunar dust.
