I was actually at a church fair when i recieved the news that we would have to evacuate for hurricane Katrina. My first thoughts were great extended vacation. I thought we would be gone for a few days then return back, just like we always did. I didn\'t even think to bring any valuable because like i said i thought we would be back within a week. When i first saw the devestation i was speechless. I couldn\'t believe something so horrible could happen to my city. I thought the only places that were destroyed by hurricanes were the carribians. To top it all off my bestfriend and her family decided to ride out the storm in a hotel and the hotel they stayed in was all over the news and it was destroyed. But thankfully everything turned out okay with her. Although hurricane Katrina was devestating i like to look at the bright side of things. I stayed in Houston, Texas the remainder of the school year where i met some amazing people and had a blast doing so. And although i wished many times that i could take back hurrican Katrina i know i can\'t, therefore it doesn\'t make sense to regret something i could have never prevented from happening.
