I was a sophmore in high school when my family & I evacuated for Hurricane Katrina. The story of us getting somewhere was more interesting than anything. We loaded up my mother\'s Suburban with our life\'s treasures and memories. In addition to our precious belongings there was my mom, dad, sister who at the time was 11, myself, our 2 hunting dogs, our cat, and my sister\'s 2 hamsters. Within miles of our house the dogs were jumping over the seats and we had to calm them down for the 16 hour road trip that was ahead of us. About half way there one of the hamsters escaped and was crawling around the floor boards underneathe the seats where my sister and I were. Once we finally captured the hamster and calmed the dogs down everything was tedious but less eventful. I\'m sure I wasn\'t the only one extremely grateful that all 9 of us made it to Houston in one piece.
