WE ARE THE MEYER FAMILY. WE LIVED IN ARABI FIRST HOUSE BEHIND ARABI DINER. WE LIVED THERE FOR 10 YEARS WHEN KATRINA TOOK IT AWAY. IT WAS OUR FIRST HOUSE AND WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BE THERE FOREVER. ON SUNDAY BEFORE THE STORM WE LEFT FOR JASPER COUNTY IN TEXAS. AFTER BEING THERE FOR 3 WEEKS WE WERE EVACUATED AGAIN FOR RITA EXCEPT WE ENDED UP CAUGHT IN IT.WE SLEPT ON A POURCH FOR 6 DAYS EXPOSED TO THE ELEMENTS. WE HAD BUG BITES ALL OVER OUR BODYS. MY BROTHER- IN- LAW AND SISTER- IN- LAW CAME AND GOT US FROM ZAVALLA TEXAS. FROM THERE WE STOPED IN ARABI TO SEE OUR HOME WE WERE DEVASTATED. OUR HOUSE WAS CRACKED IN 4.WE LEFT THERE AND WENT TO OKALOOSA COUNTY FLORIDA AROUND FORT WALTON BEACH AREA. WE STAYED THERE FOR 3 MONTHS. ON JANUARY 1ST WE CAME TO CENTRAL LOUISIANA WHERE WE DECIDED TO SETTLE I BOUGHT A HOUSE HERE AND WE LOVE IT. BUT WE STILL MISS WHAT WE STILL CALL HOME ARABI LOUISIANA.
