As a person who has grown up on the Southeastern Louisiana coast it is a fact that I have seen my fair share of hurricanes in my twenty-one years of life. I can say I seen it all when it comes to the damage and devastation of the highly unpredictable storms. However, in the weeks following Hurricane Katrina and Rita I cannot remember other storms that have caused so much tragedy and devastation over such a vast area. The sear number of people affected by these storms is staggering, and for some remembering the way life along the Gulf coast before these storms is just a faint memory of the past. As for what the future hold that is still unknown, but the rebuilding of entire communities is essential to recapture a life we once had.
