My family and I were displaced in Baton Rouge for 3 and a half weeks. Driving back and forth from Baton Rouge to New Orleans, we experienced and witnessed many hardships along the way. People throughout the city were helping each other as much as possible, yet it seemed as though the help was not enough. The national media concentrated on all of the negative aspects of the disaster, repeatedly showing the same clips to display what they wanted American citizens to see.
