When i first saw the effects of Katrina on the news I knew God was calling me down to help.My school Brentwood Academy that is is Tennessee holds winterum which is a week where we take off of school and can do different activities.I knew where is was going to help Katrina victims. We went to Gulf Springs, Mississippi. We helped clean up the rubble because nothing was left standing. One of the men we were helping asked us to save pottery pices because he was going to make a memory piece out of them. When we would find these pieces that were not much bigger than a penny he would act like we gave him a field of gold. Another memory i cherish is watching the sunrise over Bay St.Louis where the eye of the storm hit.\r\nMy second visit was with my church to New Orleans. We gutted a house that was ruined by katrina. It was amazingg because everything was there but destroyed because of the water that sat there for two weeks. We found the little boys first bible. The family drove down from Atlanta to meet us.I statred to break down when i saw the family they came and kissed us all and told us how appreciative they were of us.It is so mindboggling to think that water did this damage to the Gulf Coast.I will never forget Katrina.
