My experience of Hurricane Katrina is a time a don't like to recount. However, I learned through Katrina that material things are not and should not be defining points in our lives. Rather the way we live our lives and our spirit we give off should. During the storm my family left in search of Houston, Texas. But we fell short landing in Baton Rouge by way of Bougulosa, La by way of Brokehaven, Ms. Through this time our emotions ran high, there were fights and arguments. But after all the drama I truly believe it actually drew our family closer. Also it was a blessing in Baton Rouge we stayed with family that now I'm very close with and couldn't see living without. Although my words are few words I feel that in essence words can not express the lesson in life I learned through Katrina to appreciate the things I have and live everyday as positively as I can.
