Marrerro

My experience from Hurricane Katrina was different form most. At that time I was staying in Marrero on the West Bank and I still lost everything. My family and I were forced to stay with friends and family members in Mississippi. Even though we weren't in New Orleans we still faced power outages; but luckily my aunt had back up generators and she let us and more displaced people stay with her.
Once we heard we would not be able to return home right away my mom then enrolled me into school. The people out there were very helpful and supportive. Before we started school we received donations from different organizations including churches and the school I attended.
