Hellicane: Poets Respond to Hurricane Katrina

Moments of thankfulness sometimes go unnoticed\r\nWhen times of terror grip our land\r\n\r\nIn September of this year\r\nStorms have battered our beautiful shore\r\nAlong the western gulf\r\n\r\nSo many people have lost their homes\r\nOr even worst their souls\r\n\r\nStorms will mar this calendar year\r\nFor all time to come\r\n\r\nNow what\'s left is hope and prayer\r\nDear God we ask of you\r\n\r\nPlease help the souls that have survived\r\nTo find another life and home\r\nWithin your gracious land\r\n\r\nWith help from the flock you left untouched\r\nWho still have home and soul\r\nMake this moment of thankfulness last forever more
