As I remember the events of Katrina it seems as though I lived in a dream for four months. Suddenly living in Lafayette and attending another school was something I never thought I would have to do and now that I look back it feels as if it didn\'t really happen. As people recollect the hardship and devastating losses, I always feel as if I can\'t relate with the same measure of understanding as people who actually lost their homes. I live on the Westbank in Algiers whose residence where some of the few people who hardly received anything more than severe wind damage. We where very lucky. However, while in Lafayette my mother passed away in a dangerous car crash and in that respect I feel that I lost more than most. Even though four years have passed and my family and I have relatively adjusted, I still can\'t help but think, on this anniversary, what could have been.
