I remember a few months after Hurricane Katrina I drove through my old neighborhood in Lakeview. I grew up in the 5700 block of Wingate Drive, which is about three blocks away from the University of New Orleans. The 5700 block of Wingate Drive was very shady because it had a lot of trees. I could remember where almost every tree on the block was, because I used to climb them when I was a small child. However, after the storm all of the trees were gone. I almost passed by my old house. A house I lived in for almost twenty years. The block looked and felt different. It felt barren and eerie. \r\n
