I am going to keep this story short .I really had no idea what I was getting myself into during Hurricane Katrina. The most I ever had experienced was hard winds and rainfall before this incident.I was living in Marrero,La. at the time. My family went to Mississippi by some family members. Let's just say the hurricane brought out the worst in some people.

My family felt uncomfortable and ended up in a shelter at a college. From there we went from state to state just trying to escape the hurricane. I never felt so uncomfortable in my life. We were called "refugees" and some people poked fun at the whole situation. When we returned home there was litle damage just a few shutters off of our home. Material things could be replaced, but lives were lost. Overall, the hurricane was an important part of my life.
